St.Ives – Family Home Transformation
Prior to the renovation, the house lacked natural light and an open-plan layout, which resulted in a cramped and uninviting atmosphere. In response to the client's brief, the team transformed the outdated space into a modern and welcoming home with a seamless flow between
indoor and outdoor living areas.
The purpose of the project was to create more space and modernise the outdated family home.
The family wanted to modernise and open up their home, with a better flow between indoor and outdoor living. They also wanted to refresh the outdoor space and add a pergola for a seating area by the pool.
This project involved renovating the kitchen and laundry, adding a pergola to the backyard, and renovating the bathrooms due to rotting and leaks.
The design considerations included creating a spacious kitchen with room for wine storage and opening up the living area to the back deck.
There were some obstacles, such as having to crawl through the roof to install support rods for the gantry.
The kitchen was a favourite part of the project for the designer, as it presented new challenges and a different style than typical kitchens.
