Spectacular Second Storey Home
Smith & Sons Gold Coast Central recently completed a remarkable renovation project, transforming an ordinary rendered brick home with immense potential into a stunning masterpiece. Nestled in a coveted Gold Coast canal location, the 1990s-built residence initially featured a dated design and a boxed-in layout. Tasked by our clients, a professional couple from Sydney, with a complete two-storey dwelling renovation, our mission was to create an open-plan style and extend the rear water-facing living areas to blend congenially with the exisiting backyard pool area. Not only did we meet their brief, but we surpassed their expectations.
A major highlight of the renovation is the impressive display cabinets, featuring a large wine fridge and centrally positioned on the ground floor captivate attention. The use of Quantum Six 12mm Statuario and Gris Fuma island bench, polished Quantum Six 12 mm Statuario backsplash by Hot Rock Granite and Ultimate Splash back, Neff appliances, and custom-built joinery by Unique Coastal Kitchens provided the high-end finish the clients desired.
As part of the redesign, the staircase was relocated to a central area, becoming a stunning focal point upon entry. Behind the scenes, significant structural bracing was implemented to ensure the new staircase's integrity, which includes a substantial quantity of structural steel.
The ground floor now encompasses a spacious living and dining area, a versatile ground-floor bedroom or home office with a powder room, and an elegant butler's pantry. The new laundry features a linen chute, conveniently servicing the master suite on the upper level. A striking addition is the home's feature chandeliers, supplied by the client.
The upper level was thoughtfully redesigned and extended to accommodate a grand master suite with a new balcony, providing breathtaking views of the calming canal waters and beyond. One of the four first-floor bedrooms was converted into an oversized dressing room, adjoined by a luxurious ensuite. The bathrooms showcase luxurious and irresistibly textured finishes, including Tech Lab Evo and Glocal Ginger Structured tiles, inspired by a delicate approach to concrete and stone.
Throughout the home, a neutral colour palette creates a light, bright, and airy ambience befitting a relaxed coastal abode. The exterior boasts Fine Texture Cladding by James Hardie and the delightful Hog Bristle Quarter paint by Delux, casting a warm white glow.
Inspired by the ultimate Gold Coast waterfront living experience, this exquisitely designed home seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living through extensive Bradnam's glazing. The space is perfect for family gatherings, special celebrations, and get-togethers. The clients were deeply involved in the design and selection process, and their satisfaction with the result is beyond measure.
