Granny Flat Renovation
The homeowners had an idea but needed some guidance on how to incorporate an addition that would not only increase their property's value, but also provide a seperate living space for the client's mother. We found the perfect solution! Hidden behind a garden shed, covered in vegetation was the potential of a granny flat.
After a detailed discussion with our clients who highlighted wanting to find a way to maintain enough backyard space for their children's outdoor adventures, while meeting local council regulations, we knew we were up for the task, and so the DPC (Design, Plan, Construct) process was underway! As part of our service, plans and engineering were completed to confirm the client's vision and allowed us to quote. Once finalised and the contract signed, we could start on the new little home!
Who said a granny flat has to feel small? Our clients wanted the space to feel like a home, so we made it spacious and inviting! As you step through the classic timber French doors on the front patio, you are greeted by an open-plan living and dining area oozing with natural light! Coated in fresh white paint, and chic green/ grey kitchen cabinetry brought a pop of colour and fun to the space. The matte black fittings and brushed gold fixtures, including dragonfly handles, resembled our client's personality perfectly. Next stop, the bathroom! We continued with a fresh white and grey colour palette while incorporating modern features, such as a sleek LED smart mirror and a curved corner shower screen, which elevated the space to the next level.
From initial concept to practical completion, we created not just a granny flat, but a home that our clients would love. We couldn't be happier to be the team chosen to provide a space that they will enjoy for years to come.
