Glenvale, Toowoomba Home Makeover
In a home inundated by a dim interior and an under-utilised outdoor space, a couple in their forties turned to us to reimagine their living environment. With no definate plans set in our clients mind, they entrusted us to come up with a viable renovation blueprint that would adhere to the restrictions of the existing architectural structure, their budget and style. Their vision was a distinctive living area, isolated from the everyday disturbances of television and kitchen activities, creating a haven for personal leisure as well as social gatherings. Although their kitchen had recently been updated and was to remain undisturbed, we managed to seamlessly incorporate it into our new design, offering a clever solution without requiring any alterations.
This gave rise to a harmonious blend of the old and the new – the contrast was striking between the darker, original part of the house and the new brightly lit area with its lofty ceilings. A standout feature of the renovation was the installation of an enormous heat resistant Dekton tile, purchased from one of our sponsors, Beaumont Tiles, was used for the home and fireplace. This giant tile, with dimensions of 3000mm x 1200 mm, was specifically chosen by the clients, who also had a significant role in deciding the colour palette and the selection of materials for the remodel. Their unique choices contributed to the success of the project.
The installation of the fireplace, although crucial, posed considerable challenges, requiring meticulous attention to regulatory standards. However, the effort was well worth it, as the fireplace now stands as a stunning centrepiece in the room, capturing attention with its captivating design. Additionally, the unique architectural feature of a precise 'kink' in the house, located exactly where we constructed the extension, allowed us to raise the ceiling height, thereby enhancing the overall spatial dynamics. The result of the renovation serves as a testament to our collaborative approach and expertise, transforming a once gloomy living space into a radiant and inviting haven that seamlessly connects to the kitchen area and the new Stratco Cooldeck outdoor space.
