Girrawheen Street, Toowoomba Home Makeover
Our team recently completed a renovation project for our clients who had just purchased their first home and desired to transform it. Understanding their limited experience, we identified the DPC (Damp Proof Course) as the ideal solution, both as a persuasive selling point and as the most suitable option for the customers. Our initial meeting took place on-site, where we introduced our building designer and collaborated with the clients on plans that aligned with their budget while fulfilling their goals, such as optimising the layout within the constrained space.
Preserving the distinctive raked exposed beam ceiling was a key aspect of the design. Additionally, we removed the heater and replaced windows and doors in the new area. A highlight of the project was the redesign of the kitchen, which now features an inviting island bench. Recognising the oversized laundry, we transformed it into a more compact lock-away style, repurposing the space for the kitchen and providing convenient access to the backyard. To enhance the functionality of the sunken lounge, we created a more distinct entryway, allowing for easier furnishing. The clients expressed a desire to retain the sandstone internal cladding, which we successfully incorporated into the renovated space.
During the demolition phase, we encountered a significant bathroom issue, which we promptly addressed within the limited budget by redesigning the layout. To add the finishing touches, we meticulously sanded and polished the floors. Ultimately, we were able to fulfill the clients' requirements, and despite the budgetary constraints, the outcome of the project exceeded expectations, showcasing one of the finest finishes we have achieved.
