Bathroom & Ensuite Renovation
Our client approached us with an issue that needed a quick fix. The ensuite bathroom had developed a leak from the upstairs which was causing problems to the downstairs area. As Christmas was around the corner, and our clients were unsure if they would find a builder available, they reached out to our team who were happy to help fix the leaking issue. Our clients took this as an opportunity to also modernise and improve the functionality of their main bathroom as well as the ensuite bathroom space. They decided they wanted to update the fixtures and finishes, rearrange the layout, and ensure that the final outcome would match their needs and aesthetic preferences. The aim was to create a modern and welcoming bathroom that would offer a relaxing and enjoyable experience for years to come, with no more surprise leaks! We incorporated additional functionality into the design by including more storage, an additional power outlet, and an overall improved flow of both spaces. Our clients needed the project completed before Christmas, as they were expecting their family to visit from overseas, so we rolled up our sleeves and got to work!
Before the renovation, both bathrooms were spacious but poorly designed and lacked functionality due to the outdated appliances, layout, and design, such as the checkered floor tiles and the inbuilt alcove bathtub fitted in the main bathroom. After completely stripping out the existing rooms due to the water damage, except for the original doors, windows, and their skirtings maintained in their original exposed timber, our clients chose a stunning porcelain mosaic-style floor tile in a two-toned shade of black and white to pay tribute to the home's heritage. The walls were laid in white porcelain tiles, which made the space feel fresh and bright, as well as feel and appear larger.
To achieve a minimalist colour scheme, our builders installed a wall-hung double vanity unit with a textured wood finish in a crisp white shade. The vanity top has a marble-like appearance and a free-standing porcelain sink with chrome fixtures and fittings all supplied by Reece Plumbing. A large round mirror has been fixed to the wall, which adds to the modern look of the bathroom. The old built-in bathtub was replaced with a new free-standing porcelain bathtub, which is perfect for our clients to relax in after a long day.
Our clients were thrilled with the result of their home renovation and brand-new master-ensuite bathroom makeover. We were delighted to be the builders chosen to be a part of the process and have this project completed before Christmas, so their family and friends could enjoy the festive season.
