I am delighted to provide you with this testimonial following the outstanding workmanship and professional services provided by David Fisher and his team from Smith & Sons on the major renovation of our home located in Hughes, Canberra.
Our house was originally designed back in 1962 by Ken Woolley who is considered the grandfather of Australian architecture and recognised for his contribution to Australian vernacular building. Our house was designed during his time with Pettit and Sevitt when these houses gained an unprecedented popularity with prominent architects worldwide. Woolley was awarded the highest architectural honour in Australia when he received the RAIA Gold Medal in 1993.
As such this project was much more than just the undertaking of a house renovation. It was much more. We needed a builder who had the skills in maintaining the character and respect of the original design and working with the many challenges it offered.
As an Architect and National General Manager for an international property and construction based company I can safely say that David and his team delivered an outstanding product reflective of the respect and craftmanship required for this renovation.
David and his team were always professional in every manner and equally reliable. David’s attention to detail and perseverance in achieving quality was highly appreciated. David is obviously highly respected in the industry as he commands a team of highly skilled trades who provided prompt and quality workmanship. As a professional in the construction industry I admired David’s attention to the contract administration process as he was always up to date with the paperwork and contract.
I have no reservations in recommending David and his team from Smith & Sons for any house renovation or extension project. He comes highly recommended from myself.
