We are a retired married couple who enjoy living in modern, clean houses with workable floor plans, within beautiful and peaceful surrounds.

Over the course of 48 years, we have owned nine houses altogether - Four new builds and five established homes. This 40 year old 'Jennings' house is the oldest and most in need of a complete makeover, including all the gardens. Almost all previously purchased established homes only require cosmetic upgrades - paining and floor coverings. Thi house is the smallest and most in need of opening-up spaces - walls were removed in the kitchen, dining, lounge and a small office to make an open-plan area but not with a thoroughfare kitchen. It included converting the small office into a butlers' pantry with large food storage, extra cupboards and benches as well as washing machine. The original large laundry was changed to bedroom four. 

We chose Smith & Sons on personal recommendations and experience. With min. two year long wait for other known builders in the area we preferred a specialist renovation company with solid financial history, good moral and ethical standards.

Definitely the most positive aspect of the renovation was the efficient control of trades/contractors schedules so that it was completed in only 20 days. At times there were multiple trades on site but not in conflict with workflow.

Certainly, we would recommend Smith & Sons and in summary the reliability, quality of workmanship, trades, scheduling and problem solving ability were outstanding. Ad I type this feedback on the last working day before Christmas 2023, we are so grateful that it has entirely changed our tired, dated, rundown house into a beautiful updated home that looks stunning.
