I live with and care for my 90-year-old mum and we felt that our house needed an upgrade to make things more comfortable for her as she enters her golden years.  As people get older having a bit more space and the room available to be able to use living aids where needed can really help maintain independence.

We decided that we would turn a smallish fourth bedroom into a reading room and extend out from there with a spacious bedroom, ensuite bathroom and walk in wardrobe.  This would allow mum to have her own space but still be within easy reach for me if she needed help.

We approached Smith & Sons on the recommendation of our building designer but chose them because Damien was prompt in responding to our enquiry, the quote was well presented, covered everything we required and was within our budget.

There were a lot of great things about our Smith & Sons team but the most important for us was that they were respectful, and we felt as if our house and our project was in safe and capable hands.  We didn’t feel insecure or worried at any stage and I think that this says a lot about the team Damien has put together.

We have been recommending Smith & Sons to everyone and wouldn’t consider anyone else if we decided on further additions or renovations.
