We engaged George and the team at Smith & Sons Sutherland Shire as they had worked on my brother’s house as I was very pleased with the promptness of their work, the expertise of the workmen and the final finished product. After seeing the excellent standard of the work, I then enquired with George about some work that was needed on the inside of myhouse.
The work required complete demolition of three rooms including dividing walls, ceilings, flooring, removal of old plaster work, removal of old plumbing and removal of the old porch just outside the back door. Some of these items were from the original date of the house, sometime in the 1940s. Other items needing removal had been built by my father, who was not a builder, during the 1950’s and 1960’s.
The aim of the renovation was to update these three rooms into one area but still have the function of a sunroom, kitchen and laundry. The area would be open plan, modern and suitable to have family and friends visit.
Throughout the renovation the service provided by Smith & Sons and particularly George Khoury was exceptional. George communicated with me throughout this period by discussing various ideas, working through the schedule of work and texting me with any changes or additional information that I needed to know. All other tradesmen, working on the site, were overseen by George with emphasis on the high standard of work that was completed within the allocated time.
An aspect that stood out was the professional manner that the project was carried out. George was able to maintain a high standard of work amongst the various trades by working alongside them, ensuring that the best materials and the best building practices continued. If he felt that an aspect of work could have been better then he would have this work re-done. An example was with the sanding and finish put on the timber floors as he asked the tradesman to come back the next day to redo the floors as the work needed to be better.
I would certainly recommend Smith & Sons to my family and friends knowing that all works would be of the highest standard.
