When looking to renovate our Noosa apartment at the start of this year I was pleased to find a company offering the same security and reassurances as the major builders we had used in Melbourne (Glenville Homes) to build two double storey townhouses – that is a fixed HIA contract. Not wanting to trust work to local builders (whilst back in Melbourne) without an HIA contract and also such a builder not having access to latest ideas, finishes etc. I was thrilled to find Smith and Sons offered the services of Monica, their Interior Designer - who became a very important part of the process.
After a computer mock up of the finished ideas Monica took us to choose stone work, tiles etc at a specially designed studio not open to the public.
Once work commenced Monica sent digital photos by email for us to see the progress. We were all amazed at how quickly the work progressed – each week saw a major development. The mezzanine was constructed, with new skylights, all new plumbing and wiring installed and before the end of one month the tiler was ready to start on the floors.
All in all after approx. three months of renovations (living in the unfinished apartment for the last 2 months) we witnessed first-hand the expertise and experience that Les brings to a project. This combined with Monica’s talent for creating the best kitchen and bathroom with designer walk in shower, as well as suggesting solutions to problems of a laundry in a small area, made for the ultimate achievement.
Once finished we asked the local real estate agents from Sunshine Beach to come through and they were noticeably impressed. First wanting to know who did the kitchen and then asking what the tiles were on the floor. The standard of renovations has now taken our small retreat from Melbourne to five star accommodation – as the agents stated themselves.
Both my husband and myself can highly recommend Smith and Sons to anyone wanting to embark on building, hopefully you will also be able to count them as friends when it is all over, as we now do.
