We had an outstanding experience with Smith and Sons Hornsby. They helped us extend and renovate our small 1930's home. Over the roughly year-long process that we have known the Smith and Sons team, they have proved themselves capable, flexible, pragmatic, considerate and trustworthy. Smith and Sons graciously guided us through our entire renovation experience (designs, approvals and build). Having a single point of contact for our renovation journey was super helpful. We needed to keep to a strict budget, and having the builders give early input on the designs helped to get good early clarity on the costs of various options before locking anything in.
Smith and Sons came in on budget and were extremely transparent with costs. We saved some money on some materials, as they had a lower price than expected, and we were able to put that money towards other minor modifications. Although we were on a tight budget, the Smith and Sons team was able to successfully extend our home while maintaining its 1930s aesthetic.
We were able to live in our home for most of our renovation. This surely added complexity for Smith and Sons, but it saved us the hassle and cost of finding alternative accommodation. We are extremely happy with the quality of their work. They held themselves to an extremely high bar.
Any potential issues we noticed during the build, they were quick to engage with and action. Throughout our project, the Smith and Sons team proactively engaged us in conversation about small opportunities to improve things. Communication between us and Smith and Sons was quick, productive and easy.
